The future of your advice practice, the partner of choice.
Our role as a network is to ensure advisers are not only prepared for these changes but are equipped to thrive within them.
Talent remains one of the greatest challenges. Through the ASHL Adviser Development Academy, we have created a structured pathway into advice, with currently ~90 candidates currently progressing through qualifications up to Level 4, and ~30 having graduated at Level 4 since the Academy was established.
By removing the financial barriers to entry and partnering with universities to promote careers in financial advice, we are helping firms develop their own future advisers while broadening the diversity of the profession. So far, 4 Westminster students have graduated our introductory Financial Services CPD programme, and taken up our level 4 scholarship opportunity.
We also recognise that technology is reshaping advice businesses. Rather than encouraging firms to adopt technology for its own sake, we undertake due diligence on emerging solutions before introducing them through Technology Weeks, webinars and demonstrations. This gives advisers the confidence to embrace innovation safely while improving efficiency and client outcomes.
Our network supports both independent and restricted advice propositions. Independent firms retain complete freedom to build propositions that suit their clients, supported by discounted research tools, robust Centralised Investment Proposition (CIP) guidance and dedicated technical resource. For firms seeking a more streamlined solution, our in-house discretionary proposition through Rockhold Asset Management provides professionally managed portfolios, allowing advisers to focus on delivering advice and client relationships with confidence.
Succession planning has become increasingly important as adviser demographics evolve. We support firms through internal practice buyout opportunities, either directly through the network or by facilitating introductions to suitable buyers within our membership. Combined with Academy-trained advisers entering the profession, this helps preserve client relationships and creates long-term continuity for businesses.
What sets ASHL apart is the breadth of practical support available beyond compliance. Advisers benefit from four dedicated development programmes covering Core Advice, Business Development, Technology and the Academy, delivering over 200 hours of accredited CPD. They also have access to marketing expertise, lead generation through AdviserNearMe.co.uk, business development support, scholarship programmes, succession planning and investment expertise.
Our philosophy is simple: give advisers the freedom to build the business they want, while providing the infrastructure, expertise and opportunities to help them succeed in an increasingly competitive market.
